Gutter Clearance

Guttering plays one of the most important roles in protecting the home from the elements. They collect the rainwater that runs off the roof and diverts it away to drains and soaks ways, which is vital to maintaining the integrity of the foundations and protecting the exterior of the home from water damage, damp  and mould. 

Over time, gutters and downpipes can become blocked with moss & debris as well as twigs and leaves from surrounding trees which can cause them to become blocked and ineffective. It is so important regular maintenance is carried out to keep them free-flowing. We recommend once every 12 months.

We offer a full gutter clearing service whereby your gutters will be swept clean of any debris. We will also do a simple check over of the roof to ensure there are no minor issues that may need to be brought to your attentio.

Moss Removal
Many of us take pride in cleaning our driveways, our patios, our windows and our cars but we don’t always think about cleaning our roofs. Our roofs are what protect our home and belongings from the elements and carrying out regular maintenance and cleaning can help our roofs last longer.

Regular maintenance can also help identify potential issues early, i.e. cracked/ slipped tiles allowing these to be fixed before they have an opportunity to cause internal damage.

These photos are examples of previous works we have carried out. We carefully scrape away moss/debris from the roof  by hand. Once complete, we clear all of the gutters and  outlets to ensure all are clean and free-flowing. Lastly a biocide is brushed into the tiles to instantly kill any moss and help prevent regrowth.

Although roofs can be jet washed with steam and at a low pressure, we and most manufacturers strongly advise against it. Especially if you have and old or delicate tiles/slate.
